A huge capture library is wonderful and completely overwhelming on day one. So NAM 9000 arrives with a curated set of profiles we captured and dialed ourselves — install it, open a preset, and you are already playing something worth recording.
The British classic, captured across its whole gain range.
Most captures freeze an amp at one setting. This one was captured 18 times across its gain control, and the plugin loads the whole set as a single amp — on its own faceplate, where the PRE-AMP knob moves through the amp's real gain staging instead of turning up a frozen tone.
18 separate captures of the same amplifier, blended as you turn the knob. Plus all four rigs of the pack — each one twice: with the matched cab captured in, and as a DI capture for your own cabinets.
A clean and a high-gain profile of our own, with rig presets built on them — so the plugin makes real sound the moment it opens, not silence.
A captured screamer in front of the amp, with a DRIVE knob riding nine real captures of the pedal — not a filter sweep over one.
A blended-speaker cabinet IR at every supported sample rate, and factory rig presets covering clean, rhythm and lead.
Two things. One app.
01 — Play
Pedals into a captured amp, twin studio EQs, cab and IRs, delay, reverb and tuner. Browse captures and build whole playable rigs without leaving the plugin.
Explore the rig →02 — Capture
Record your real amp, train the model on your own machine, compare it against the original — and keep a standard .nam file you can use outside NAM 9000.
Explore capture →An open format
Neural Amp Modeler is an open capture format, not a closed preset ecosystem — and NAM 9000 builds around it rather than replacing it. A capture you make here is a standard .nam file that travels with you: load it in another compatible NAM plugin, or onto NAM-capable hardware. Your tone isn't locked to this app.
NAM 9000 is not affiliated with the Neural Amp Modeler project. Captures are designed to reproduce the same amp behaviour wherever a compatible NAM implementation runs them.
01 — Play
Paged like a real rig: pedalboard, amp head, rack, cab. No menus buried in menus.
Not a file loader with a volume knob — the whole chain, in the order a real rig runs it.
Gate, Tube Screamer, compressor, pitch, chorus, phaser, flanger, tremolo — plus the CAPTURE pedal: a second NAM engine that runs captured drive and fuzz pedals in front of your amp, simultaneously.
02 — Capture
Profiling isn't an external tool or a paid add-on — it's a page in the plugin. Setup → Test → Capture → Train → Compare, all guided.
NAM 9000 plays the official NAM capture sweep through your rig, records what comes back, and trains a neural model on your own machine — GPU-accelerated, nothing uploaded anywhere. No NVIDIA GPU? One click exports the recording to TONE3000 and trains it free in the cloud. This is the actual capture scene from the plugin, cloning a rig on loop:
Every interface, level chain and room is different — and a capture that's slightly clipped or misaligned trains into a lifeless clone no matter whose cloud does the math. Send us your raw capture recording and it runs through the exact pipeline our commercial packs are built on — checked, trained, measured and listened to by an engineer who's mixed metal for ten years.
How it works: in the plugin, run your capture and use Export recording (the same file TONE3000 takes), then write to us — attach the .wav, or paste a WeTransfer / Drive link if it's too big for mail (over ~20 MB). We'll confirm it can train well before you pay anything, and send payment details with the confirmation. Turnaround within 48 hours of payment, delivered as a download link.
Your recording and the trained profile are yours: never reused, never added to our packs, deleted from our systems 14 days after delivery. Anonymous quality statistics (match scores, common capture problems) may be kept to improve the in-app capture studio — never your audio.
Gear
A capture you make in NAM 9000 is a standard Neural Amp Modeler file. It doesn't have to stay on your computer — NAM-compatible hardware will play the same profile on stage.
A bass multi-effects floorboard with the Neural Amp Modeler built in — so a profile you capture and train in NAM 9000 loads straight onto the pedal. Six controls, three footswitches, IR loading, XLR outs, MIDI and USB-C.
HeadRush's whole multi-effects lineup now runs the Neural Amp Modeler natively — the free 5.1 firmware update adds NAM support and the TONE3000 library right on the pedal's touchscreen. Browse, load, play: no computer, no file transfers.
More gear lands here as it ships. Links to Thomann are affiliate links: if you buy through one we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend, and we don't list anything we wouldn't use ourselves.

Optional
The included profiles are a real starting point, not a demo — and when you want specific gear, the store is a library of properly captured amplifiers and pedals rather than a pile of presets. Every one of them is optional. None of them is required to use NAM 9000.
The entire head — every channel of the real amplifier, each with its own voicing and its own gain sweep, switched from the faceplate. Audition every channel free in the app for five minutes.
One legendary head, captured across its useful range with the rigs already dialed — in full-rig and DI versions so you can use your own cabinets.
Screamers, boosts and transparent drives — each captured nine times across its drive range, so the pedal's knob moves between real captures.
A whole wall of heads for one style of music, dialed by an engineer who has spent ten years recording, mixing and mastering metal.
Content packs and the optional NAM 9000 Pro upgrade are separate things: Pro adds features to the software, packs add gear to your library. Neither one is needed to use the other.
The price
Not a trial, not a feature-limited demo, and it doesn't expire. Want dual amps, dual cabs and the rig renderer as well? NAM 9000 Pro is an optional one-time upgrade — the free app stays the main product.

Runs on Windows 10 / 11 64-bit and macOS 11 or later (Apple Silicon or Intel) · VST3 / AU in any major DAW, or standalone · an ASIO interface is recommended on Windows
Signed Windows installer · Apple notarized · No account required
The Windows installer is Authenticode-signed under the publisher name NAM9000, so SmartScreen recognises it instead of warning about an unknown developer. The macOS installer is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper lets it through without the “unidentified developer” dialog. Both mean your operating system can verify the file before a single byte of it runs — a guarantee you will rarely get from a one-developer audio tool.
Having trouble? The standalone app remembers your audio device setup, and I/O calibration is saved globally — set it once and forget it.
You'll also be first to hear about new preset packs.
About
NAM 9000 is a solo project. I'm Tommy Pedersen — I've played metal most of my life, and I've spent the last ten years recording, mixing and mastering it. My day job is software and content development; this app is where the two worlds meet.
When the NAM A2 architecture was released, profiling quality crossed the line where I no longer wanted anything else on my recordings — but the plugin I wanted around it didn't exist. So I built it. NAM 9000 is that build: the rig I actually play through, shared.
