Yes — it shipped in July 2026. One universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel (macOS 11 Big Sur or later), with Standalone, VST3 and AU for Logic and GarageBand. The installer is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper opens it without warnings. Same app as the Windows version — including the capture studio, which on Mac exports your recording for free cloud training instead of using a local NVIDIA trainer. Grab it from the download section — one email gets you both platform links. And thank you to everyone who signed up for the Mac list: that interest is what moved it up the roadmap.

Linux comes up and is noted, but it's behind Mac in priority — no timeline yet. iOS isn't currently planned; it's a different plugin format and DSP environment entirely.

Yes — and as of July 2026 the installer is digitally signed (publisher: NAM9000), so this warning shouldn't appear anymore. If you still see it, you most likely have an older, unsigned download — grab the current installer (same link as always) and you're set.

You can verify the signature yourself: right-click the downloaded .exe → Properties → Digital Signatures — the signer should read NAM9000. Brand-new certificates can take a few weeks to build SmartScreen "reputation", so a rare More info → Run anyway prompt can still show up in the meantime; the signature check tells you the file is genuine.

If you'd rather double-check the download hasn't been tampered with first, compare its SHA256 checksum against the one published below (right-click the installer → check its hash with any checksum tool, or in PowerShell: Get-FileHash NAM-9000-Setup-1.9.2-free.exe).

Checksums are for the current release, 1.9.1. If you're holding an older download the hash won't match — that on its own doesn't mean anything is wrong with it, but the current installer is the one we support.

No — it's a false positive, and it should now be history: as of July 2026 the installer is digitally signed (publisher: NAM9000). Installers downloaded before that weren't signed, and because the installer packs its amp and cab sound data in compressed, encrypted form, a few antivirus engines flagged those builds heuristically — an automated guess — with generic machine-learning labels like Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml or ObfuscatedPoly, not an actual virus they found. If your copy was flagged, simply re-download: the current signed installer resolves these warnings.

The genuine installer is the file linked in the confirmation email we send you. To be sure your copy is untouched, check that its SHA256 matches the value below (in PowerShell: Get-FileHash NAM-9000-Setup-1.9.2-free.exe), or right-click it → Properties → Digital Signatures and confirm the signer is NAM9000. If it matches, any residual warning is safe to disregard — you can allow or restore the file from your antivirus quarantine. If it does not match, don't run it; reply to the email and we'll sort it out.

Only want the plugin, not the standalone app? Run the installer and choose the VST3 plugin only install type — every binary it places is code-signed, and the factory content still installs itself on first launch.

We reported the earlier false positives to Microsoft and the other vendors, and everything we ship — the installer, the standalone app, the VST3 and even the uninstaller — is now digitally signed. If your antivirus still reacts to the current signed download, we'd genuinely like to hear about it: reply to your download email.

No. The macOS installer is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple — Gatekeeper verifies that automatically before anything runs, so there's no signature to check by hand and no warning to bypass. If macOS ever does complain about a NAM 9000 download, that copy didn't come from us — get the genuine one from your download email and let us know where the other came from.

Install the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (free, from Microsoft) and restart NAM 9000. That's the whole fix.

NAM 9000 draws its interface with WebView2. When that runtime is missing, Windows quietly falls back to the old Internet Explorer engine, which can't run the interface — so you get a blank window, or repeated "An error has occurred in the script on this page" dialogs complaining that something is null or undefined, not a Function object. Nothing is broken or corrupt, and nothing needs reinstalling: it's only the window, and your profiles, presets and settings are untouched.

Windows 10 and 11 normally already have it, because it ships with Microsoft Edge. It's usually only missing on a machine where Edge was stripped out by a system "optimizer" or debloat script — common on dedicated audio PCs. WebView2 also needs Windows 10 or newer: Microsoft ended Windows 7 and 8.1 support in 2023, and NAM 9000 requires Windows 10 or 11.

Open SETTINGS (the size/gear control at the bottom left of the window) and, in the DIAGNOSTICS row, click OPEN FOLDER. Attach the newest file to your reply — the file names carry the date and the program they came from, so pick the one matching when the problem happened.

If the window won't open at all, go there by hand:

Windows: %APPDATA%\NAMPlugin\logs — paste that into the address bar of any Explorer window.
macOS: ~/Library/NAMPlugin/logs — in Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G and paste it.

For quick questions the COPY INFO button next to it is usually enough: it copies your version, audio settings and unlocked packs to the clipboard, ready to paste into an email.

The log is a plain text file that stays on your computer — nothing is ever uploaded, and we only see it if you attach it yourself. It holds no license keys or passwords. You can switch it off with the Write a log file checkbox, though leaving it on is what makes a problem solvable on the first reply.

Two ways, either works:

Re-download NAM 9000 from the download page — current builds carry the runtime inside the app, so this error can't happen with them. Just run the installer over your existing install; profiles, presets and settings are untouched.

Or install Microsoft's Visual C++ Redistributable (free, one minute): aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe — then start NAM 9000 again.

Background: very early 1.7.1 downloads relied on a Microsoft system component that most PCs already have via Windows Update or other apps — but a fresh or heavily trimmed Windows may lack it. Builds since then are self-contained.

Update to 1.9.1 — that's the whole fix. Mono → mono works again, and your saved projects open with the plugin resolving normally. Download it from the link in your original email, or grab it here; installing over the top keeps everything.

Why it happened: this was on us. NAM 9000 builds its stereo image inside the plugin — two amps panned apart, ping-pong delay, stereo reverb — so a mono output silently folded all of that back to the middle. 1.9.0 closed that hole by requiring a stereo output, and the side effect we didn't catch was this one: projects saved with an older version running NAM 9000 mono in / mono out could no longer find that configuration, and it couldn't be added to a mono track at all. Updating Logic didn't cause it, but it triggered the plugin rescan that brought it to the surface. In 1.9.1 the plugin offers mono → mono again while still building its stereo image internally and folding it down at the very end, so nothing sounds thin.

About that instance's settings: if you already opened the project while it was broken, Logic never loaded the plugin, so its knob positions in that project are gone — load your rig again after updating. If you'd saved it as a preset inside NAM 9000, it's still right there in the preset browser, untouched: presets live in the app's own library, not in the Logic project.

This can happen with installers up to 1.9.0, and 1.9.1 fixes it for good. The cause is another copy of NAM 9000.app sitting somewhere else on your Mac — in Downloads, on an external drive, or an older beta. A copy still in the Trash counts too. macOS spots that copy and either updates it where it sits or skips installing the app altogether, and it does this silently: your plugins install perfectly, so nothing looks wrong until you go looking for the app.

The fix: delete any stray copies of NAM 9000.app (empty the Trash afterwards), then install 1.9.1. It lands in /Applications where it belongs, and because 1.9.1 tells macOS never to go hunting for other copies, it won't drift again.

To train on your own machine, yes — local training is GPU-accelerated and needs an NVIDIA card. But you don't need one to capture. Record the sweep as normal, then click Export for TONE3000: NAM 9000 saves your recording plus the standard input file and opens tone3000.com/capture, where you upload both and train in the browser for free. Download the finished .nam and load it back into the plugin — same capture quality, no graphics card required.

Not anymore. Since 1.8.0 you connect your account instead of pasting keys: open the browser's T3000 tab, click SIGN IN, approve in the browser window that opens, and you're connected. A free TONE3000 account is all you need, and a previously saved key keeps working silently — nothing breaks.

Only on 1.7.1 or older: log into tone3000.com → Settings → API and paste the secret t3k_cs_ key (not the publishable t3k_pub_ one). Or just update — it's free.

The stored key isn't valid — and on 1.8.0 or newer the clean fix is to stop using keys at all: open the T3000 tab and click SIGN IN. Connecting your account replaces the key entirely, and the 401 can't come back.

If you're staying on 1.7.1 or older: the classic causes are the publishable t3k_pub_ key pasted instead of the secret t3k_cs_ one, a key cut off in the copy (~70 characters), or a masked display copy (t3k_cs_****…). Generate a fresh secret key at tone3000.com → Settings → API, then KEY → paste → SAVE KEY in the T3000 tab. Keys live only on that computer, so repeat once per machine.

Yes. The main amp slot and the pedal slot each have their own file picker, so you can load any standard .nam file from anywhere on disk — not only what TONE3000 serves up. Cab IRs work the same way: load your own .wav.

Yes — that's already in the free app today. Two NAM engines run simultaneously: one in the pedal slot feeding into one in the amp slot, in series.

An amp pack is a download — profiles and presets you install. A pedal has nothing to download: all fifteen catalog drive pedals already ship inside the app, and before you buy one it plays with full features for 30 seconds at a time, marked PREVIEW. The license key simply removes the time limit. Multichannel amps are the same one-step deal — too large to ship in the installer, so the app fetches the head itself the first time you play it, and your key just turns the five-minute audition into ownership. Audition first, in your own mix, then decide.

A normal capture freezes an amp at one setting — one channel, one gain. A multichannel amp is the whole head: every channel captured across its full gain range, on one amp with a working channel switch and its own faceplate. Flip Clean to Crunch to Lead and the GAIN knob keeps riding real captures the whole way; each channel remembers its own settings. Every one auditions free for five minutes at a time — all channels, full quality, in your own rig — then your own amp comes back and you can start another audition. Those are multigain captures: the same amp captured many times over across its actual gain control, so the GAIN knob moves through the amp's real gain staging instead of filtering one frozen snapshot. The drive pedals work the same way on their DRIVE knob. Building a set takes a specialised capture and analysis process we developed in-house — the short version is that the knob ends up behaving like the one on the amp.

Yes. A license key is yours, not your machine's — it works on Windows and macOS, survives reinstalls, and doesn't need to be "deactivated" anywhere first. Keep the license email; that's the whole system. Keys are personalized with your email address, so please don't share them.

The key comes by email from licenses@nam9000.com, usually within a minute of ordering. If it's not in your inbox:

• Check spam / junk first — that's where it is in most cases. Marking it "not spam" helps the next mail land right.
• iCloud addresses (@icloud.com, @me.com, @mac.com), Yahoo, ymail and AOL are the strictest filters we've seen — Apple in particular tends to file the licence mail as junk. Look in spam, and if there's truly nothing, write us (below) and we'll re-issue on the spot.
• For amp packs, the download itself is also on the order confirmation page — only the key travels by email.

Yes. Click the UI-size label in the bottom bar and enable Lite graphics (static) under GRAPHICS. The moving glow, tube flicker and worn-metal textures become static — the sound is bit-identical, it's purely paint work — and the interface CPU roughly halves, with the amp page benefiting most. The setting is remembered per machine.

Yes, since 1.11 — and it's aimed squarely at the standalone app. Right-click any knob, switch or fader, pick MIDI LEARN, move the control on your controller, done. The panel under the settings gear holds the on/off switch, a channel filter, a live monitor of what's arriving and the list of everything you've mapped.

Footswitches get the parts a DAW can't do for you: amp channel up/down or straight to a channel on a multichannel head, preset up/down, tuner, A/B, tap tempo — plus one CC per named preset, learned by right-clicking the preset. Program Change #N loads the Nth preset by name if you switch it on; it ships off, since it acts on any program change that arrives rather than one you chose. Your mapping lives on the machine, not in your presets.

In a DAW, reach for your host first: every host binds a CC to a plugin parameter and records it as automation, which plugin MIDI can't. In Logic the AU takes no MIDI at all — giving it MIDI would have changed the plugin's identity and broken every saved project, so that trade was refused. Use Smart Controls there, and the standalone for footswitch work.

Yes. The UI-size control in the bottom bar now has a continuous slider from 60% to 200%, plus an Auto mode that fits the UI to the window in both directions — so it shrinks to fit a small screen instead of getting clipped. Click the size label in the bottom-left corner to open the slider. The whole interface is vector art, so it stays crisp at any size, and you can also just drag the window edge to resize.

It shouldn't — the profile name is meant to stay visible under the amp's knobs the whole time a capture is loaded (e.g. "Rhythm NAM9000"), not just flash on load. If you're seeing it disappear, that's likely a different momentary popup rather than that label — let us know exactly where you're seeing it and we'll dig in.
